The Whitemud Equine Learning Centre provides school groups with qualified, experienced instructors for all aspects of horse handling, horse riding and stable management and lesson horses suited to all ages and abilities from age 6 up.

Our instructors will provide horse handling, horse riding and stable management instruction in eight weekly modules. Classes can be booked for Thursday or Friday. Fees are based on $45.00 per lesson day per student ($360/8wks) in groups of 4-6 which includes:
WELCA will also draw on experts to provide the students with exposure to different aspects of the equine industry such as farrier, veterinarian, tack fitting, showing, jumping, etc.
At the conclusion of the eight-week session, riders will be well started in the basics of riding and able to demonstrate mount and dismount; adjust stirrups and girth; correct position at walk and trot; transitions; and halt from walk. In addition, they will understand and demonstrate the basics of good horse care including feeding, grooming, and stabling.
Riding and horse care are taught for the most part, in the arena and the barn. The Rider Manual is the primary resource material; however, lessons are not taught directly from the book.
