2018 Summer Camps

Our objective for the summer day camps is to enable children to explore the fun experience of horses, while encouraging resilience, emotional control, and positive attitudes towards new challenges. We use a variety of activities on and off horse including games, crafts, and horse care.

All campers are required to have:

  • long pants for riding (stretchy preferred)
  • running shoes
  • snack and water bottle
  • change of clothes for off-horse activities

PLEASE NOTE: No sandals, crocs or other open-toed footwear.

HORSE RIDER CAMP

  • Monday to Friday 9am - 4pm, dates to be announced

For kids ages 9-14 who love horses but have not spent a lot of time with them! All day camp includes a riding lessons plus any of the following: instruction on grooming, tacking, horsemanship, feeding, mucking out stalls, bathing horses, turning out, farrier demos, vet demos, nature walks, basic equine first aid, outdoor activities and more.

Registration fee is $500

PONY UP CAMP

  • Monday to Friday, dates to be announced
  • Pony Up for Children ages 4-9 runs from 9:00am - Noon
  • Pony Up for Children ages 4-9 runs from 1:00 - 4:00pm

Registration is $300

Late pick up for the afternoon camp can be arranged through the WELCA office. There will be an extra charge for this service($10/day). The camp activities are based on the FUNdamentals program of Equine Canada.

PLEASE NOTE: WELCA reserves the right to adjust riding times in the event of severe weather or other conditions as necessary to ensure the safety of riders, horses and volunteers.
